Adam Bukowski Receives MassMutual Community Service Award for Service to DuPage Senior Citizens Council

The MassMutual Community Service Award celebrates individuals who make a meaningful impact in their communities through volunteerism and civic engagement. For Adam, the recognition is both humbling and a reflection of the collective efforts of those working to support older adults throughout the community.
“I never became involved in community service for recognition,” Adam shared. “This award is meaningful because it highlights the importance of serving others and brings attention to organizations that make a real difference in the communities we live in. It also reflects the collective efforts of so many dedicated volunteers, staff members, and community partners who work tirelessly to support those in need.”
Adam has served as both a board member and board president of the DuPage & Kane Senior Citizens Council, an organization dedicated to helping older adults maintain their independence, dignity, and quality of life. Through programs including Meals on Wheels, wellness checks, transportation assistance, and supportive services, the organization reaches thousands of seniors across DuPage and Kane counties.
One of the most impactful aspects of the organization’s work is the human connection it provides. While meal delivery addresses an essential need, the regular visits from volunteers often offer companionship and reassurance to seniors who may otherwise experience isolation. These interactions help ensure older adults remain safe, healthy, and connected to their communities.
Adam’s commitment to community service is rooted in his belief that everyone has a responsibility to give back and support the communities that have supported them. He views volunteerism as an opportunity to make a tangible difference while building meaningful relationships with others who share a commitment to service.
