Michael Windisch serves as the Chief Compliance Officer, where he leads the firm’s compliance strategy and governance. In this role, Michael oversees a dedicated team of compliance professionals responsible for ensuring that the organization and its network of financial advisors operate within the bounds of all applicable local, state, and federal regulations. His team plays a critical role in maintaining the firm’s integrity and reputation by implementing robust compliance programs, conducting regular audits, monitoring regulatory changes, and providing ongoing training and support to advisors. Michael also collaborates closely with senior leadership to align compliance initiatives with business objectives, fostering a culture of ethical conduct and accountability throughout the organization.
Before joining WestPoint, Michael began his career in the financial services industry in 2001 at Northwestern Mutual as an Associate Wealth Management Advisor. After his time as an AWMA, Michael became the Director of Investment Operations from where he gradually transitioned into the compliance world, eventually becoming the Director of Network Office Supervision at his previous agency.
Michael earned his Bachelor’s degree in International Business from the University of Nebraska and his MBA in Management from the University of Illinois-Chicago. Michael holds his FINRA Series 6, 7, 63, 66, 9 and 10.
Michael was born and raised in South Africa and moved to the United States in 1996 to attend college on an athletic scholarship. He competed in the 2000 Olympics in Sydney, swimming for Austria. In his spare time, Michael loves to travel and enjoys trying new restaurants.
