Michael Reed

Mike Reed’s introduction to the financial services business came at a relatively young age. Given that his father was a financial planner for 44 years, Mike has had an insider’s view into the career. Mike had the opportunity to intern at his dad’s firm while still in college, and to evaluate the path he would eventually pursue. Upon graduation in 2000, Mike started his career as a financial advisor and transitioned into his current position as partner at WestPoint Financial Group in 2009.

As a Partner and financial advisor at WestPoint Financial Group, Mike assists his clients with crucial future strategies. Mike works with clients who are at or nearing retirement and who are concerned about not having to compromise their lifestyle as they approach this next phase of life. He particularly enjoys working with business owners on developing exit strategies, and on managing and maximizing their overall benefit portfolios. Mike frequently coordinates his recommendations with his clients’ attorneys, accountants, and CPAs – a process that requires collaboration and communication.

“What I appreciate most about this line of work is witnessing every day the true meaning of family,” says Mike. He cites the care and love that he sees clients pour into their families, whether in his dad’s practice or in his own. “I see the same thing: people care deeply about those they love, and for that reason they do the important work of preparing for what’s ahead.”

A graduate of Cedarville University, a Christian university in Ohio, Mike earned dual degrees in management and marketing. He resides with his wife Alissa and their four children in Fort Wayne. Outside of work, Mike spends as much free time as possible with his family. He is an active member of the Pathway Community Church, and is also heavily involved in the business and local community.

Mike was born and raised in Oregon. Though he is proud to call Indiana home, he remains a passionate fan of the Oregon Ducks.
