Doug Shannon
Doug Shannon is a Partner at WestPoint Financial Group. He provides objective and customized insurance and investment strategies to help meet the financial needs of his clients.
Doug is a graduate of the University of Nebraska, where he received a Bachelor of Science in Business Management. Through studies at the American College Doug has received the designation of Certified Financial Planner CFP® in 2013, Chartered Financial Consultant ChFC® in 2015, Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) in 2014, and Retirement Income Certified Professional RICP® in 2017.
Prior to joining WestPoint Financial Group, Doug was a Wealth Management Advisor at Northwestern Mutual for seven years.
Doug married his wife Amy in 2008 and they have two daughters, Jordan and Gabriella and two dogs, Daisy and Scarlet.
Doug was recognized as a member of the 2015, Greater Peoria, 40 Leaders Under Forty class sponsored by iBi Magazine. He serves as the Fundraising Chair for the PTO at Kellar Primary School. Doug and Amy are founding and Summit members of the Emerging Philanthropist Fund through the Community Foundation of Central Illinois, Doug was a committee member for Easter Seals Black and Blue Ball for 5 years, Doug is a committee member for Over The Edge to benefit Friendship House of Christian Service, and Doug is on the House Committee of Mt. Hawley Country Club.
In his free time, Doug enjoys sports, games, movies and attending his children’s activities.
