John Ocwieja
John Ocwieja, knows a thing or two about financial strategies for family businesses. It’s not just because he’s earned the designation of Certified Family Business Specialist; it’s literally in his blood – his family has owned a successful manufacturing and wholesale distribution company for eight decades. John’s mission is to help people achieve financial success for themselves, their families and their businesses. In addition to his work with family-owned and closely-held businesses, John has earned the designation of Chartered Special Needs Consultant, specializing in providing financial services for families with special needs. He has a thorough understanding of, and many years of experience in estate and tax planning concepts, special needs trusts, government programs, and the emotional dynamics of working with people with disabilities and other special needs and their families.

John is active in his community as a member of the Board of Directors of the Chicago Chapter of St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. He’s a member of the Entrepreneurs Institute in Chicago, and a sponsor of, and lecturer at the Loyola University Family Business Center. A graduate of Indiana University, he has continued his education with industry related courses in investment management, economics, and risk management, and is currently working toward other professional designations. Outside of work John enjoys fine dining, travel, theatre and attending sporting events, and spends much of his non-work time in San Diego.
