Josh Plank
Josh Plank joined WestPoint Financial Group in 2002 upon earning a degree in Finance from Butler University. He sought to join a premiere firm in Indianapolis and to work in a capacity that would leverage his natural ability to connect with people. As a financial advisor at WestPoint, he would have the opportunity to do both.
Over a decade later, and now a partner in the firm, Josh feels the decision was the right one for him. Looking back on the early years of his practice, he acknowledges how much effort it took to establish a firm foundation. But like many successful entrepreneurs, he was motivated by a vision and put in the necessary time to get his business off to a strong start.
The experience gives Josh a personal connection to the business owners whom he counts as clients today. He focuses much of his practice on helping entrepreneurs with business succession strategies. “Business owners care deeply about their businesses,” says Josh. “I enjoy working with them because they appreciate the help I can provide and there are vast opportunities for planning.”
He also counts many physicians and local farmers as clients. “Doctors and farmers are small business owners, too,” he points out. Josh enjoys meeting with people, listening to their stories and helping them work toward achieving their goals.
Josh believes in continuing to educate himself in his chosen field and has pursued several industry designations. He obtained the CFP® designation in 2007. He is also a Certified Life Underwriter designee (CLU) and a Chartered Financial Consultant desginee (ChFC).
In 2020, Josh was recognized by GAMA International for outstanding leadership in the financial services industry. This prestigious award honors front-line leaders who have shown exemplary performance in their current positions and are emerging leaders in their companies. More recently, Josh was named MassMutual’s Sales Manager of the Year, the highest honor among all Sales Managers. This is the latest among all of Josh’s accomplishments that characterizes his vital contribution to the success and growth of WestPoint Financial Group.
A steadfast Butler fan, Josh is loyal to his alma mater and doesn’t miss any basketball games. He is also a big fan of the Indianapolis Colts. Originally a native of Knightstown, Josh and his wife, Erin, reside in Zionsville, Indiana with their young children.
